KÖLLA Expands Management in Munich and Izmir

KÖLLA GmbH has appointed Ibrahim Yigit as Managing Director for its locations in Munich and Izmir. With this decision, KÖLLA strengthens its leadership presence in two key markets and sets a clear focus on further development, international connectivity, and strategic alignment.

Ibrahim Yigit has been active in the fruit and vegetable industry since 1990 and brings extensive experience across the entire value chain. His professional roots lie in his family’s food retail business, where he gained practical insights into retail operations over several years. He subsequently spent 14 years at the Munich wholesale market, further deepening his expertise in trade.

A defining phase of his career was his 13-year tenure at a leading company in the food retail sector, where he played a key role in the development and management of procurement and sales structures. For approximately 10 months, Ibrahim Yigit has been part of the KÖLLA Group and now contributes his extensive experience in a leading position.

“Ibrahim Yigit combines many years of operational experience with a clear understanding of market structures and international dynamics. In connecting our locations in Munich and Izmir, we see significant potential to further integrate our processes and systematically strengthen our position in the market,” says Florian Walther, shareholder of the KÖLLA Group.

Looking ahead, Ibrahim Yigit sees key challenges primarily in the tension between rising costs and increasing margin pressure:
“We are facing a market environment where rising costs for energy, transport, raw materials, and labor coincide with an increasingly price-driven retail environment. At the same time, weather-related risks continue to increase. This makes it even more important to optimize processes and strengthen collaboration across the entire supply chain.”

“I am very much looking forward to this new role and to further expanding cooperation with the teams in Munich and Izmir while continuing to develop our structures. At the same time, our goal is to further strengthen and expand our partnerships with producers in Turkey over the long term. Close collaboration at origin will play a key role in unlocking additional market potential,” says Ibrahim Yigit.

With the appointment of Ibrahim Yigit, KÖLLA is further strengthening its international positioning and consistently advancing its structures across the entire Group.
